Aemon Ban, human rogue
Like all illegitimate children in his community, Aemon has the surname ‘Ban’—meaning ‘white’ or ‘blank’ in the local tongue. His mother brought him up believing himself to be the son of a local noble and destined for greatness. As Aemon turned 16 his world crumbled as his mother dies of illness and his purported father refused to recognize Aemon as a son. Bitter and alone, Aemon torched the noble, Lord Lynch’s barn, and fled the village. Aemon has spent the time since on the streets, surviving by his wits and quickness—and always staying one step ahead of any marshals. Aemon’s short string of relatively good luck ended as he ran into a trap laid by a kobold clan. The clan has kept imprisoned since, whether for dinner or some other nefarious purpose, Aemon doesn’t know!
