Background:
The elders of my village told me that on the night when the fire arrows were shooting across the sky. The wind became unseasonably cool and the horses stirred all night. The dawn that followed a young tribe warrior and his wife woke to find a baby crying outside their tent. When the raised the flap they saw a “white man” baby covered in a blanket and laying in a small basinet. There was a letter inside the basket, but the no one in the tribe could understand what it meant.
Two years later my tribe began trading with villagers from the white man camp. Once my father asked one of them to read the letter, All he could make out is that my name was Jason. This confused my father because all the men in our tribe did not get a name until they underwent the passage ceremony.
At age 16, I saw myself through my own passage and was given my tribe name of Hawk’s Claw. Most saw it fitting, due to the fact that I had a scar on my right cheek given to me by the Hawk when I invade it’s nest and tried to steal it’s eggs. During the time of the great shift I found myself alone and wondering. I decided to join both my namesakes to become Jason Hawk’s Claw. I was given the gift of archery and bow making by my father. I have a certain skill with a bow and I intend to further and master my skills.
Jason is an initiate in the Order of the Arrow.
