Here's a few haphazard notes on how to create a character for the
Lharna Gamer Group:
The following dice are rolled for attributes: 5d6 (keep best 3), 4d6 (keep best 3), 4d6 (keep best 3), 3d6, 3d6, 3d6. The catch is you must decide which dice to assign to which attributes
prior to rolling any dice. When rolling remotely, players are encouraged to use
verified die rolls.
After assigning and rolling these attributes, players determine the character's
Caste. Caste is an extra attribute determined by rolling 4d6 (keep best 3).
Then after rolling all attributes, players may add 6 bonus points distributed among attributes per the player's preferences. Players may not increase any score above 18.
Lastly players may increase any attribute by 1 point for ever 2 points they subtract from another attribute.
If after doing all of this the player is still unsatisfied with his/her attributes the player may roll his attributes as before. However, on the second roll the player may NOT add any bonus points to the character. The player can still add by subtraction as described above.
For first level hitpoints, the player rolls two hit dice and the player takes the better of the two rolls.
The founding players started their
characters with zero XP's. A player who is generating another character after the
death of a character begins with one half of his/her previous XP total.
A player who is joining the group late begins with XP total equal to 1/3 of average XP's of the current party. XP's of current
characters are
found here.
Players may only use classes, skills and rules from the core D&D sourcebooks unless pre-approved by the DM.
All
player characters are
human unless pre-approved by the DM. Players should select a preferred ethnicity for the character and the DM will advise the player of the corresponding Lharnese ethnicity.
It may be important to choose the character's
religion and
languages. Most
player characters will be natives of
Sinepaxia or the
Empire of Grodnus.
Players receive an XP incentive for creating and maintaining a bio about their character.
New players are encouraged to read the
Journals. The prose is not the best but it will give a new player some idea of where the game stands.
