The party searches Gene Parmesian's lair and cleans out loot left by the party of Robert Telero. Telero is semi-delirious, and shows signs of a vicious, barbarbic (almost Pergaeli) level of torture. The party uncovers a mechanism/room which Gene must have been using to recharge his wand of spider summoning. Llaun uses the device to eliminate several spiders and recharge his wand. The party then kills the mother spider and retrieva Iowaffa's Tomahawk of Iowaffa, a famed weapon wielded by a legendary Occopannac brave, but also by one of Telero's companions. The party also finds a +2 gladius and evidence of the untimely deaths of Telero's companions. The party finds a scrap of paper which Telero says was ripped from the pages of the Tome of Paths.

As they pass through the Occopannac village the party speaks with Chogan who says the kobold raids have ceased.

In Telero, the party receives mail from Pergael and learns that four thousand kobold warriors are camped at the edge of town. They have cut down many trees and appear to be making ready to attack Telero. The pary also learns that the town of Crumly was wiped out. Faelon and company recover Reclarent from a hiding place where they deposited the sword.

The party decides to take advantage of the lull in activity to scout around Pueblo Alto once again. Halfway between Gene's lair and Pueblo Alto they find a strange hideout where they defeat 12 uberkobolds and one ultrakobold.
